The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has announced recruitment for the prestigious Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) Officer (Junior Time Scale) Trainee posts under three streams. This notification (Category No: 01/2025 – 03/2025) invites eligible candidates to apply online through the official KPSC website.
Vacancies and Pay Scale
The total number of vacancies is 31, distributed as follows:
- Stream 1: 11 vacancies (Direct recruitment)
- Stream 2: 10 vacancies (For government employees below 1st Gazetted rank)
- Stream 3: 10 vacancies (For 1st Gazetted officers and above)
Selected candidates will receive a pay scale of ₹77,200 – 1,40,500/-.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Limit
- Stream 1: 21 – 32 years (Born between 02.01.1993 and 01.01.2004)
- Stream 2: 21 – 40 years (Born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2004)
- Stream 3: Must be below 50 years as of 01.01.2025
2. Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree (including professional courses) from a recognized university (UGC/National Institutes/Government of Kerala).
3. Experience Requirements
- Stream 2: Must be a full member or approved probationer in any Kerala Government department but not hold a 1st Gazetted post or above.
- Stream 3: Must be a 1st Gazetted officer or above in the departments listed under the KAS Special Rules, 2018.
Selection Process
The recruitment will be conducted in three phases:
1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type – 200 Marks)
- Paper I: General Studies I (100 Marks)
- Paper II: General Studies II, Language Proficiency (100 Marks)
- Exam Date: June 14, 2025
2. Main Examination (Descriptive – 300 Marks)
- Paper I: General Studies I (100 Marks)
- Paper II: General Studies II (100 Marks)
- Paper III: General Studies III (100 Marks)
- Exam Date: October 17 & 18, 2025
3. Interview (45 Marks)
The final ranking will be based on the Main Exam and Interview scores.
