Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published notification for the Combined Medical Services Examination for the recruitment of Medical Officers in Central Government Services. Applications are invited for 1261 vacancies. MBBS Opportunity is for qualified candidates. Application should be submitted online. The exam will be held on 2023 July 16.

Vacancies: General Duty Medical Officer (Central Health Service)-584, Assistant Divisional Medical Officer (Railway)-300, General Duty Medical Officer (New Delhi Municipal Council)1, General Duty Medical Officer Grade-II (Municipal Corporation of Delhi)-376 .

Age: Should not exceed 35 years for the post of General Duty Medical Officer (Central Health Service). For other posts should be below 32 years. Age will be calculated as on 1st August 2023. SC and ST in the upper age limit. For category candidates five years and O.B.C. Category candidates will get relaxation of three years. There will be statutory age relaxation for differently abled persons and ex-servicemen.

Eligibility: Must have passed the final written and practical examinations of MBBS. Those who are going to appear for the exam and those who have already written it can apply, but they will have to submit the proof of passing within the specified time later.

Examination: As part of the selection, there will be a written test of 500 marks and a personality test of 100 marks. The exam will be objective type and multiple choice format. Each wrong answer will carry one-third negative marks. There will be two papers (250 marks each) for the written examination. Paper 1 will be related to General Medicine and Paediatrics and Paper 2 will be related to Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Preventive and Social Medicine.
Detailed Syllabus UPSC Available on notification on website. The exam will be on 2023 July 16. There will be 41 examination centers across the country. In Kerala, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will be the exam centers.

Application Fee: SC, ST for women and differently abled. There is no fee for category members. For others the fee is Rs 200. Fees can be paid online or in cash at SBI branches.
